Dental Crowns & Bridges

If you have missing teeth, suffered extensive tooth damage or lost a large filling, Dr. Mikhail or Svetlana Gomer may suggest a crown or a bridge restoration. Both restorations can improve your smile and allow for proper mouth function.

What is a Dental Crown?

A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a damaged tooth to add strength, improve appearance and prevent further decay. Dental crowns are used to repair chipped, broken or discolored teeth, replace large fillings, and may be used after root canal therapy to protect the remaining structure of the tooth. Crowns can also be used following a dental implant placement to fully restore the tooth.

What is a Dental Bridge?

A bridge fills in the gaps where one or more teeth are missing. The dental appliance consists of a prosthetic tooth or teeth connected to crowns that fill in the empty spaces. Like a crown, a custom bridge will function, feel, and look like natural teeth.

If you’d like to talk to Dr. Mikhail or Svetlana Gomer about whether crowns or bridges are the right restorative option for you, call our office at (978) 851-7012 to book an appointment today.
