Invisalign Do’s

• Rinse your aligners when you take them out. Make sure you don’t allow bacteria to accumulate on them. Always rinse them thoroughly in warm fresh water.
• Brush and floss thoroughly every day, and always before you put your Invisalign clear aligners back in. Food and bacteria can get stuck between the aligner and your teeth, causing tooth decay. Routine brushing and flossing prevent tooth decay.
• Protect your clear aligners by keeping them safely in their carrying case.
• Soak your Invisalign trays daily in either a denture cleaner or Invisalign cleaning crystals. Rinse the trays thoroughly before putting them in again.
• Let your dentist know if you’re going on vacation for several weeks. You can take a pair of Invisalign clear aligners with you.

• Eat or drink while you have your clear aligners in. Eating and drinking with your clear aligners in can cause discoloration.
• Use toothpaste or baking soda to clean your clear aligners.
• Leave your Invisalign clear aligners near a heat source. This can deform the material and ruin the personalized fit of your aligners.
• Don’t scrub your clear aligners roughly or vigorously. Aggressive brushing causes tiny scratches on that allow room for bacteria to grow in.
